Independent film 'Confessions of a Sailor' hosting open casting call in Green Bay

The team behind “Confessions of a Sailor,’’ a full-length independent film set in Door County, is hosting an open casting call for cast and crew from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Days Inn-City Centre, 406 N. Washington St., Green Bay.

Media 153 Network, a “media ministry,’’ is looking for actors for supporting roles, day actors and extras as well as production members for a story set in 2008 that unfolds against the backdrop of uncovering the mystery of the 1958 Lake Michigan shipwreck of the Carl D. Bradley.

Jennifer Cadena, whose acting credits include the 2011 film “The Roommate’’ and NBC’s “Days of Our Lives,’’ has signed on to star in the film, along with area standup comic Justin Kenneke and Andrew Delaurelle, a theater performance major at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Kurt Krauss, a 2010 UWGB grad, is director.

The film is tentatively slated for release in June 2012.

Actors should bring a resume and headshot to auditions, or for the crew, a resume and any samples of their work. For more info, go to www.confessionsofasailor.com.
