Carl Behrend Performing at Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival Oct. 11-14, 2012

ALPENA, MI--Singer/Songwriter Carl 'Bearfoot' Behrend is among several artists headlining the Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival, Oct. 11-14. Behrend, a Great Lakes folksinger and author, brings to life the adventures of the Great Lakes through his music and story-telling of shipwrecks, captains and Native American legends. Behrends' originals 'Wreck of the Bradley' and 'Sailor's Prayer' are featured on the 'Confessions of a Sailor' soundtrack. The 'Confessions of a Sailor' film is slated to hit theaters Father's Day 2013. Alpena's Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival is the largest in North America. In its 17th year the festival offers tours and visits of 10 of Michigan's historic lighthouses by land, boat and helicopter. Additionally, those attending this exciting weekend will enjoy live performances by Behrend and others, nautical entertainment, speakers, authors and vendors as well as live and silent auctions. Most importantly, the Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival brings to life the rich maritime history of Michigan, and serves as a living tribute to those who make their living on the often treacherous waters of the Great Lakes.
